Margazhi Kolam!

Gone are the good old days when young girls and home makers in my neighbourhood used to getup early in the morning and draw rangoli in front of house. There used to be an unannounced competition goes in the background on who has drawn the better one. Almost the whole street wears a festival/colourful look.

I remembered my childhood margazhi days suddenly when I was on my way to office today morning that is because of a rangoli in my street which you can see in the end of this post. That one was special because rest of the homes wore a plain kolam. ( hmm.. reality bites.. I had forgotten  for a while that I live in Chennai which is a purely industrialized city).

Visit to Garden City!

I had been to Bengalooru last weekend primarily to attend my friend Varun's wedding. I joined with my other friends Purushothaman, Palaniappan, Suresh Kumar and Shuvan Saha. We went to Hebbal by BIAL(Bengalooru International Airport Limited) Valvo bus. The journey was awesome. It took more than an hour to reach Esteem Mall @ Hebbal. Meanwhile we friends had very nice time recalling old memories.

I watched  Dwayne Johnson(The Rock)'s movie Faster @ INOX, Garuda Mall on Saturday. The movie was good. On Sunday I got some time to roam around Domlur & Indira Nagar localities where I had been stayed and worked for past 3 years. I can see lot of improvements in the locality. A new BDA Shopping Complex is coming up @ Domlur bus stand.

Like always the parks are green and neatly maintained. The scene of greenery in those parks melts my heart every time I visit them.

Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

December is here!

December means rainy days, foggy mornings and Chennai music festival. Here comes the last month of the year. Days are moving so fast that we are in the fag end of 2010.

I had never been to music kutcheris before. But that has barely prevented me from updating myself from its happenings. I have heard about its longevity and performances by renowned carnatic artists. Hoping to catch some this winter starting 15th December.

As far as foggy mornings, I love them from my childhood. I think it is the same with everybody unless you are too old to bear the cold. Let me tell you why I love them. Foggy mornings means you can sleep a little longer than your usual sleeping hours, morning tea tastes sweeter and warmer, you can see school kids wearing colorful sweaters and most important city buses will be rush-free.

Wishing you all very happy days ahead!
